What next after the riots?
A lot of activity is taking place around the Winstanley Estate and York Gardens in response to last year's riots. Several major initiatives have been launched by Big Local, London Citizens and Wandsworth Council to come up with plans and actions. Significant investment is planned for this area in the immediate future. We have listed upcoming events in our Events Calendar if you want to get involved.
Know Your Rights
South West London Law Centres have teamed up with law firm Eversheds to offer a one day introduction to people in Wandsworth around learning their legal rights in areas such as debt, housing and employment.

Help with neighbourhood planning
Planning aid for London (PAL) has contacted Lifetimes to offer free help for community groups that are interested in creating their local neighbourhood plans under the Localism Bill. Read more about PAL here or contact Sophie Hall-Thompson

Disorder in Wandworth - Independent Review Report Published
Wandsworth Council launched an independent review into the disorder that took place in Clapham Junction, and other parts of the borough on 8th August. The independent review report has now been published. Read it here. See pages 78 - 80 for the Key Findings.
LawWorks Riot Help
The LawWorks Riot Help Project provides a legal service for those affected by the civil unrest during 2011. They offer assistance to individuals and small business owners who have suffered loss or difficulty because of the riots. They also offer help to community groups who will play a vital role in the rebuilding of these communities, and also to any new or existing not-for-profit in an area affected by riots. Read more …
