About Us

Wandsworth Voluntary Sector Development Agency is the Council of Voluntary Service in the London borough of Wandsworth and acts as the umbrella body and advocate for local voluntary activity. Our vision is for a vibrant, inclusive, independent and strong voluntary and community sector in Wandsworth, in order to help improve the quality of life of the community. We will achieve this by providing effective and accessible infrastructure support services and volunteering tailored to meet the needs of voluntary and community groups and local people. Our three departments are:

We are committed to providing high quality support to local voluntary and community groups through the
Volunteer Centre Wandsworth, which acts as a “volunteer job centre” service for local residents. We also offer consultancy advice to volunteer involving organisations.

Additionally, our
Voluntary Sector Development team works with hundreds of small Wandsworth based groups on business planning, organisational and strategic development, governance, ICT, financial procedures and funding, helping to create and sustain a vibrant voluntary sector in the process. Please click on the links in the top menu to learn more about the work of our two departments.

Consultation panel

Building on previous work, we have responded to the government’s charge to plan the long term infrastructure needs of the local voluntary sector through our consultation panel.

As a result we've developed a new Wandsworth ‘infrastructure’ Plan and strategy. This sets out a challenging vision, whereby all voluntary and community groups in Wandsworth, by 2014, will be able to readily access quality capacity building support.

The documents below are plans and strategies for the support of the voluntary sector in Wandsworth over the period 2008 to 2011 which we have put together as a result of consultation following the work of the Wandsworth consultation panel during 2007.Wandsworth Infrastructure StrategyWandsworth Infrastructure Business Plan

How can the Wandsworth Infrastructure plan help small voluntary and community groups in Wandsworth?

The Wandsworth Infrastructure Plan sets out a ten year vision and plan for the provision of support services to voluntary and community groups in Wandsworth. It also indicates how the short term needs of so called 'hard to reach' groups can be met through the provision of outreach services to black and minority ethnic groups. Additionally, the plan points to the continuation of the ICT support service for small groups and developing accreditation for training too.
